The database “Spanish Trade and Transport Flows – TradeTrans” was presented at the 2005 Annual Meeting of the International Maritime Statistics Forum to an audience of experts in statistics and managers of the statistics departments of important institutions such as the US Maritime Administration, Eurostat, LR Fairplay, Informa UK Ltd and PIERS, amongst others.
The presentation provided a comprehensive insight into TradeTrans’ objective and scope of study, as well as thoroughly describing the list of variables and information compiled and examining TradeTrans’ limitations and statistical biases. Finally, a brief glance at the database’s potential uses was given and future development plans were outlined.
