Port Planning View projects The Port Planning and Development area coordinates the actions that involve identifying future demand for port services, in order to achieve a viable and sustainable configuration of the services on offer. In addition to supply-and-demand analyses, other lines of action include the analysis of the physical environment; the design and scaling of port infrastructure; the analysis of operating conditions; port-city integration and land connectivity; financial and economic analysis of investments; the processes, contracts and clauses for concessions and other forms of public-private participation; economic impact methods; and innovation in Strategic Environmental Assessment. Notable examples of planning instruments include the Port System Strategic Framework, Strategic Plans, Master Plans for Infrastructure or for Ports, the demarcation of port spaces and uses, Special Plans, Business Plans for Port Authorities (PA) and Institutional Strategic Plans for PA.

Fundación Valenciaport has extensive experience in all these areas of work, primarily within the sphere of the Port Authority of Valencia as well as in Latin America.
