Alternative Fuels View projects The emissions associated with the use of conventional fuels affect air quality and contribute to global warming, posing a risk to societal well-being. As a result, it is crucial to consider the transition to a zero-emissions energy model in the medium term, in which different alternative fuels are going to contribute significantly. In the short term, Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) will play a key role as a transition fuel, while in the long term newer and cleaner alternatives such as hydrogen will appear.the immediate use of alternative fuels such as liquefied natural gas (LNG) can contribute to this transition in the short term.

Within this area, Fundación Valenciaport has been involved in multiple initiatives aimed at promoting the deployment of LNG in the maritime industry, through studies, pilot project design and, finally, deployment. It also participates in actions to define and promote the role of hydrogen to achieve, in the medium to long term, a maritime-port sector with zero emissions.

Energy efficiency View projects In the field of transportation as well as any other dimension of the industry in general, one of today's main challenges concerns improvements to energy efficiency, both for the sake of the resulting environmental benefits as well as the potential reduction in associated costs.

Fundación Valenciaport has worked in close collaboration with companies in the port area, making intensive efforts to improve the energy efficiency of port operations and transport, with the aim of minimizing their environmental impact and ensuring economic profitability.

Environment View projects The effects of economic activities on the environment are becoming ever more noticeable; as such, there is a growing need to gain a better understanding of these effects and mechanisms to mitigate them, with innovation and new technologies being a key element in addressing this situation.

The promotion of sustainability and respect for the environment are two aspects that are intrinsic to Fundación Valenciaport. It has therefore been intensively engaged in various kinds of projects that tackle the problem from different angles.
