Valencia, 16th October 2025.– The Port Entrepreneurship International Congress (PEIC) has established itself as one of the most important events on the international port entrepreneurship calendar, attracting speakers of the highest global prestige to this edition. The conference will kick off with an opening dialogue between Mar Chao, president of the Port Authority of Valencia, and Antonio Torregrosa, general director of the Valenciaport Foundation, who will explore the logistics and port innovation generated at Valenciaport and its international impact, opening the doors of this innovative ecosystem to a global audience of industry professionals.
The program stands out for its top-level international keynotes, with notable presentations by Grant Brown of Hitachi and Nil Angli of the European Space Agency, who will share their visions on technology and innovation to build the future of the port sector.
Innovation in formats: reverse pitching and maximum representation of startups
Another important space is dedicated to financing innovation in the sector, which will take the form of reverse pitching. In this session, representatives of specialized investment in the port sector will share current trends in innovation financing, offering their perspectives on investment opportunities in the sector.
Compared to previous editions, PEIC 2025 has increased the presence of startups. On this occasion, 20 startups have been invited following an international call for applications and a careful selection process. These startups will be present on stage, either in demonstration format or through pitches, followed by round tables organized around the four strategic themes of the congress: blue economy, energy transition and sustainability, logistics chain efficiency, and port security and resilience.
The program also includes a session of the Port Innovators Network (PIN), with representation from the innovation hubs of the ports of Halifax (Canada), Hamburg (Germany), Tyne (UK), and San Diego (USA), consolidating the international nature of the event.

International networking and recognition of innovation
Since its inception, PEIC has been characterized by its ability to generate synergies between the different players in the port ecosystem. This year will also see the launch of the PEIC Audience Award, which will recognize the startup that receives the most votes from conference attendees, thus reinforcing the participatory and open nature of the event.
Due to the format of the event, places are limited. Professionals interested in attending PEIC 2025 can express their interest by sending an email to hello@opentop.es with their contact details and company name. The organizing team will contact them to confirm their attendance.
“Having speakers of this international stature is not only a source of pride for Valencia, but also reinforces Valenciaport’s position as a global hub for open port innovation. PEIC has become a benchmark event where innovators who are transforming the sector share their vision of the future, consolidating this event as an essential date in the logistics and port entrepreneurial ecosystem calendar,” said Juan Manuel Díez, Head of Innovation at the Port Authority of Valencia.
The PEIC 2025 conference is organized by Opentop, the open innovation initiative of the Valenciaport Foundation, with the support of the Port Authority of Valencia and the Valencian Regional Government through the Regional Ministry of Innovation, Trade, and Tourism, via EMENTI 251522.
