The Valenciaport Innovation Committee selects two port community projects to be developed in 2026

  • The first pursues the development of an innovative solution for coordinated response to disruptions. The second pursues a collaborative solution for calculating and communicating the carbon footprint in door-to-door logistics chains
  • To develop these initiatives, the Innovation Committee will rely on the technical team at the Fundación Valenciaport

Valencia, 30 January 2026. Last week, the Valenciaport Innovation Committee held a Prioritisation Workshop in which the two collaborative innovation initiatives of greatest interest to be promoted by the port community in 2026 were selected.

The session, organised and led by the Fundación Valenciaport, allowed committee members to work with a shortlist of 12 proposals, the result of a previous questionnaire sent to companies in the sector, with the aim of identifying key areas for collaboration in innovation projects.

Several criteria were applied for the final selection: planned development in 2026, participation of at least three actors from the logistics-port ecosystem, potential impact in terms of efficiency, sustainability, competitiveness and safety, as well as the level of maturity, technical feasibility and possibilities of financing through European, national, regional or private funds.

The two initiatives that received the most support were:

  1. The development of a comprehensive solution for a coordinated response to disruptions of all kinds, facilitating monitoring, prediction, communication and decision-making
  2. The development of a collaborative solution for calculating and communicating the CO₂ footprint in door-to-door logistics chains, with the aim of moving towards greater sustainability and environmental traceability in transport and logistics operations

Both initiatives will be promoted throughout this year as part of the port community’s commitment to innovation, public-private collaboration and continuous improvement.

The conference was attended by representatives from the Port Authority of Valencia, Cosco Shipping, Baleària, APM Terminals, VTE, CSP Logitren, Trans-Base Soler, Infoport, ATEIA Valencia, FVET and Asociación Naviera Valenciana.
