Fundación Valenciaport launches its logistics and port specialisation as an official vocational training option

  • The programme responds to the real needs identified in companies in the logistics and port sector, including proficiency in technical English and key technological tools such as PCS and specialised ERPs
  • After five years of joint work and with the entry into force of the new Vocational Training Act, the specialisation in Port Logistics Immersion and its management tools is officially incorporated as an optional subject in the Higher Level Training Cycles in International Trade and Transport and Logistics, taught at the IES Pere Boïl, IES Grao, CIPFP Ausiàs March and CIPFP Mislata centres

Valencia, 10 February 2026.- Last week, the Fundación Valenciaport welcomed more than a hundred students from the International Trade and Logistics and Transport training courses at the IES Pere Boïl, IES Grao, CIPFP Ausiàs March and CIPFP Mislata centres to its facilities for the official launch of the new optional subject from the Regional Ministry: ‘Port logistics immersion and its management tools’.

The main new feature of this edition, following the entry into force of the new Vocational Training Law, is that this training is being offered for the first time as an optional module, incorporating into the official curriculum all the joint work carried out over the last five years by the Foundation and the participating training centres.

The event was opened by Antonio Torregrosa, Director General of the Fundación Valenciaport, who welcomed the students, emphasising that they are entering an ‘extremely dynamic sector that generates constant opportunities’ and highlighting the need for highly specialised profiles.

For his part, Alfredo Soler, President of Propeller Valencia, highlighted the strategic impact of a sector that generates more than 50,000 jobs in Valencia and which, following the expansion with the future North Terminal, will grow significantly.

Soler emphasised how this course responds to the real needs of future professionals in the sector, including technical English and mastery of technological tools such as the Port Community System (PCS) and specialised ERPs, offering the opportunity to learn from leading companies in a sector with a bright future.

Along the same lines, Carmen Villar, head of studies at IES Pere Boïl, explained that thanks to the new Vocational Training Law, this optional course has been formalised. It includes all the teaching material developed by a working team made up of the four training centres together with the Fundación Valenciaport, and reflects the real needs identified in the companies with which they work hand in hand to provide students with comprehensive specialisation.

Ana Rumbeu, Director of Training at the Fundación Valenciaport, was responsible for presenting this new phase of the programme, which is now in its fifth year and is being developed in conjunction with the Directorate-General for Vocational Training of the Valencian Regional Government, the Valencia Port Authority (APV) and Propeller Valencia.

After her speech, the training began with the first technical sessions led by Josep Sanz, Director of Energy Transition at the Foundation, and Alexandre Sánchez, Head of PCS Systems at the APV, providing students with a comprehensive and operational overview of the system.

With this training, the Fundación Valenciaport guarantees its students comprehensive specialisation that is fully aligned with the reality of the port, thus maximising their immediate employability in a strategic sector.
