Fundación Valenciaport and Forética examine the challenges of sustainability in a time of disruption

  • Experts and business leaders gathered to analyse the trends and strategies that will enable organisations to navigate the current period of transformation
  • Representatives from IVI RMA, Nealis and Fundación Valenciaport shared their insights on competitiveness, innovation and sustainability

Valencia, 13 May 2026. – The Edificio del Reloj today hosted the conference “Sustainability in the age of disruption: keys to navigating change”, organised by the Fundación Valenciaport in collaboration with Forética and with the support of the Valencia Port Authority.

The event, which brought together around a hundred attendees, aimed to reflect on how the corporate sustainability agenda is evolving in a landscape marked by technological transformation, geopolitical uncertainty, regulatory changes and greater social and environmental demands.

The session was opened by Antonio Torregrosa, Director General of the Fundación Valenciaport, who highlighted the importance of seizing opportunities for dialogue and collaboration to strengthen the competitiveness of the logistics-port ecosystem and to share experiences regarding its practical application within organisations.

Next, Jaime Silos, Director of Corporate Development at Forética, addressed in his presentation “The 5 sustainability trends in a transforming environment” the key factors shaping the business agenda within the economic, social and regulatory context. Silos emphasised the importance of integrating sustainability into corporate strategies as a lever for competitiveness, resilience and long-term value creation. His presentation also highlighted the value of anticipating new risks and the opportunity to respond to the growing expectations of stakeholders in order to move towards more responsible business models that are better prepared for the challenges arising from energy, technological and social transformation.

The session continued with a round-table discussion moderated by Marta Cámara, Senior Manager at Forética, in which representatives from various organisations shared their approach and experience regarding the integration of sustainability within companies, delving into current risks, opportunities and priorities.

Participants in this session included Vicky Vila, Global ESG & Sustainability Manager at IVI RMA; Ana Gutiérrez, Head of Sustainability and Continuous Improvement at Nealis; and Salvador Furió, Deputy Director and Director of Innovation and Development at the Fundación Valenciaport Cluster. In their contributions, they agreed that businesses are evolving towards a more comprehensive and strategic approach to sustainability, linked to innovation, the energy transition, talent and operational efficiency.

The event concluded with a presentation by Pilar Blaya, Director of CSR and Human Capital at the Fundación Valenciaport, who summarised the key takeaways from the day, emphasising that the most resilient organisations will be those capable of integrating sustainability across the board into their strategy, innovation and decision-making processes.

Following the closing session, attendees took part in a networking session, which provided an opportunity to exchange views and strengthen connections in order to continue fostering partnerships and solutions to move towards a more sustainable, innovative and resilient Valencian business community.
