- The Port Energy Transition Master Plan and the Catalogue of Technologies for the decarbonisation of ports have been the two main results of this initiative in which the Fundación Valenciaport has actively participated
- Both tools are now available, free of charge, on the SEANERGY website, facilitating the adoption of sustainable solutions in European ports
Valencia, 29th May 2025. – Last March saw the end of the European SEANERGY project, an initiative in which Fundación Valenciaport participated as a partner and which has produced as its main results two practical tools to promote the energy transition of ports.
Firstly, the Port Energy Transition Master Plan, a guide designed to support port organisations in the implementation of their decarbonisation strategies. This plan, developed in collaboration with experts in port management, energy and environmental sustainability, is available free of charge in nine languages on the SEANERGY website.
The Master Plan provides a strategic framework that facilitates ports in defining their own energy transition strategies. It aims to drive a sustainable transition that combines environmental and technological advances, encourages greater stakeholder involvement and adopts best available practices. It is structured in three phases – initial vision, strategic planning and implementation with evaluation – which progressively guide any port organisation, regardless of its size or profile. It also incorporates a continuous improvement process to review progress, adjust actions and respond to new needs.

On the other hand, Fundación Valenciaport has coordinated the creation of a Catalogue of Technologies for the decarbonisation of ports, also available free of charge on the SEANERGY website. This repository brings together more than 90 innovative solutions aimed at promoting sustainable practices, improving efficiency and accelerating port decarbonisation. It aims to connect the port community with technology providers to accelerate the adoption of new solutions to drive the energy transition in ports.
The catalogue is organised into ten sections, including solutions for ship power supply, cargo handling equipment, and green fuel producers, among others. Each technology is described in detail, highlighting its main features, offering filters to facilitate the search for the most suitable options according to the specific needs of each port or maritime company, and the direct link to the supplier is provided for further information.

With the commitment to keep it updated, Fundación Valenciaport will regularly incorporate new technologies and suppliers to support their adoption and contribute to the energy transition of the sector. To include port decarbonisation technologies in the catalogue free of charge, the following e-mail address has been set up: tecnologias@fundacion.valenciaport.com.
SEANERGY Project
The SEANERGY project is an initiative co-financed by the Horizon Europe programme that has brought together 12 partners from 9 European countries (Portugal, Sweden, Netherlands, Italy, Spain, Austria, Greece, France and Germany), with the common objective of supporting the creation of the best possible environment and conditions to carry out the EU energy transition, through the development and implementation of sustainability by means of an educational pathway focused on the port ecosystem.
This project, led by Magellan Circle and in which Fundación Valenciaport has actively participated, has had a total budget of 2.5 million euros.
