Valencia, February 26, 2026. – Opentop, Valenciaport’s open innovation hub, will actively participate in the Mobile World Congress (MWC- 4YFN) in Barcelona, representing the maritime-logistics sector’s innovation ecosystem. During the event, from March 2 to 5, the Opentop team will have an agenda that combines participation in specialized forums, networking, and intense scouting activity aimed at identifying the most disruptive startups that can solve challenges and provide innovative solutions to companies and entities working in the ports of Valencia, Gandía, and Sagunto, managed by the Port Authority of Valencia.
Opentop’s presence at MWC-4YFN reflects Valenciaport’s commitment to open innovation as a tool for competitiveness and transformation in the sector. The hub will participate in several round tables and activities, among which we highlight the following for their special relevance:
Jorge Marcos, head of Opentop, will be present on March 4 (4 p.m.) at the Telefónica stand, at the round table entitled “Marine Sustainability: IoT, 5G, and Aquatic Drones,” where he will share the latest innovations developed by the Valenciaport Foundation in this field of so-called “green digitization.”
Likewise, in the Spanish Pavilion at 4YFN, Helena Ortiz, Ecosystem Manager at Opentop, will participate in the live broadcast of the podcast “Hablamos con…” (We Talk to…) by Plataforma ONE (National Entrepreneurship Office). And on March 4 at 1:30 p.m. at the Valencia Innovation Capital stand, Opentop has organized a round table on open innovation, with the participation of the startups Gandolapp, Cooling Photonics, and Passify, who will discuss the opportunities of the matchmaking service, while analyzing the latest trends in open port innovation.
These contributions underscore Opentop’s role as a bridge between the entrepreneurial ecosystem and large corporations in the logistics-port sector, consolidating its position as a leading player not only in Valencia, but also nationally and internationally.
Juan Manuel Díez, Head of Innovation at the Port Authority of Valencia, has emphasized the importance of this presence: “Open innovation is a fundamental tool for accelerating the competitiveness of Valenciaport. Initiatives such as Opentop, organized annually by the PEIC (Port Entrepreneurship International Congress), and its active participation in the PIN (Port Innovators Network) allow us to connect with the best international talent and the most advanced technological solutions, consolidating Valenciaport as a European benchmark for open innovation in the Mediterranean.”
For his part, Jorge Marcos, head of Opentop_Hub, highlighted the value of participating in this type of event: “MWC-4YFN is a unique opportunity to participate in conversations that are defining the future of transport and to get to know first-hand startups that can transform the logistics-port sector.
We encourage all startups interested in collaborating with the Valenciaport ecosystem to come and contact our team: we will be present and active during the congress.”
