Call for APV scholarships for the Master’s Degree in Port Management and Intermodal Transport now open

Valencia, 07.07.20.- The Port Authority of Valencia (PAV), through the Fundación Valenciaport, has published a call for applications for the 29th edition of the Master’s Degree in Port Management and Intermodal Transport.

This scholarship, which will cover the total amount of the Master’s registration fee (11,850 euros), can be applied for by active professionals in the Spanish port logistics sector who have a minimum of three years’ experience in port management, intermodal transport, and/or international trade; who are Spanish citizens or residents in Spain; who have a university degree with a specialty in Administration, Law, Economics, or Engineering, preferably with knowledge of English and are fluent in Spanish if it is not their mother tongue.

The evaluation criteria will be based on three aspects: academic training, complementary training and languages; work experience within and outside the sector and personal skills, which will be evaluated through the personal interview, the references provided and the motivation of the candidate.

The deadline to apply for this scholarship is September 7th. On 21 September the Fundación Valenciaport will communicate to the candidates the resolution of the Evaluation Committee.

Master’s Degree in Port Management and Intermodal Transport

The Master’s Degree in Port Management and Intermodal Transport is owned by the PAV, is directed by the Fundación Valenciaport and, since the 27th edition, is a title of the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV).

The 29th edition of the Master’s Degree in Port Management and Intermodal Transport has a renewed programme organised around 8 subjects, responding to the needs of the logistics-port sector: Management and direction of teams; Foreign trade and internationalisation; Maritime traffic and maritime law; Transport (Land, Rail, Air and Logistics and Competitiveness); Port planning; Port management; Docks and terminals and, finally, the TFM (Master’s thesis).

A total of 600 hours corresponding to 60 ECTS credits, where the academic content, by a faculty of more than 70 executive professors from the national and international port logistics sector, is completed with debates, workshops, and conferences on the latest trends in innovation and digitalization in the sector and more than 25 visits to port facilities, including the ports of Valencia, Alicante, Castellón and Sagunto.

A weekend of outdoor training linked to strategy and leadership, teamwork performance sessions, an international study trip to London, and the job bank and internships in companies in the sector, are the hallmarks of a Master’s course that also offers the best opportunity for professionals in the sector to project themselves and access the job market for recent graduates. A programme with an employability ratio of over 95%.
