Course objectives

To provide an overview of the activities of the various port operators involved in international trade, highlighting their strategic importance for business competitiveness, job creation and improved social welfare. The course clearly and simply systematises the main documents and contracts involved in each phase of the process, facilitating their understanding and practical application.

Participants will achieve the following:
• Understand the role of each of the agents in the port community.
• Learn about the document flow of import and export operations.
• Understand the challenges facing the sector.
• Improve their professional profile and employability in a growing sector.
• Increase their professional network through contact with professionals in the sector.
• Understand the strategic impact of the sector on society.

 

Who it is aimed at

Aimed at Propeller members or individuals recommended by them who are professionals in the sector or wish to focus their professional career on port logistics. Each Propeller member may invite up to a maximum of three participants per course.

Module 2. Who's who in the Port Community
Module 3. Incoterms and basic means of trade financing
Module 4. Maritime Transport
Module 5. Containers
Module 6. Import and export process
Module 7. Complete document flow for an import and export operation
Module 8. Valenciaport Port Community System
Module 9. Career guidance and job search techniques
Module 10. Current challenges: digitalisation and sustainability in port logistics

In order to reinforce the theoretical content, practical visits will be organised to key facilities at the Port of Valencia:
• General tour of the Port of Valencia
• Container depot
• Container terminal

Teaching team

The course will be taught by renowned instructors with proven teaching experience and high-level communication skills.

€500 (Includes enrolment, class attendance, specific teaching materials and travel for visits).

The Propeller Association will subsidise 50% of the course cost. Students must pay the remaining 50% (€250) in a single payment by bank transfer toFundación Valenciaport before the start of the course.
