Valencia – 22.04.20. On 29 April at 17:00 hrs. the fourth port logistics webinar will be held, organised by the Fundación Valenciaport, in which the situation of the international maritime container market will be analysed by Eva Pérez, Director of Promotion of Innovation and Sustainability of the Fundación Valenciaport.
During this webinar a brief review of the trade growth forecasts for 2020 published by the main international institutions will be carried out in order to define future scenarios for the international maritime container transport market and analyse what impact the defined scenarios will have on the sectorial strategies deployed by shipping companies over the last decade. In this way, the evolution of horizontal concentration and vertical integration in the market will be examined, the search for economies of scale of ships, the expected supply and demand in the short and medium term will be estimated and, finally, charter rates and freight rates in the main routes will be reflected upon.
It should be recalled that this activity is part of the cycle of free webinars on the main trends of the port logistics cluster that has launched the Fundación Valenciaport with the aim of offering the sector a pleasant option to train and update during the period of confinement resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic. These webinars are held through the Fundación Valenciaport’s Virtual Classroom platform, on a weekly basis and last 30 minutes plus 15 additional minutes of questions. It is expected that, during the coming weeks, they will continue to analyze very current issues such as the use of hydrogen in the maritime-port sector or the possibilities of the circular economy in ports, among others.
