Valencia – 18.10.2021. The Port Immersion Course for Vocational Training (VET) teachers began this morning at Fundación Valenciaport’s facilities. This training is endorsed by CEFIRE “Centre de Formació, Innovació i Recursos per al Professorat de la Comunitat Valenciana” and given by Fundación Valenciaport within the framework of its Port Immersion Dual VET Programme, a pioneering initiative in the sector promoted together with the Generalitat Valenciana and with the support of the Port Authority of Valencia and the association Propeller Valencia.
Thanks to this course, which lasts 30 hours, 16 teachers of the higher degrees of International Trade and Transport and Logistics of the I.E.S Pere Boïl in Manises, Lluís Sunyer in Alzira and Ausiàs March and Abastos in Valencia will be trained with the aim of providing them with the necessary knowledge to adapt these VET degrees to the real needs of the port logistics sector, thus facilitating the incorporation of their students into the labour market.
The content of the course is based on the results of the “Study on professional profiles required by companies in the port community of Valencia” also carried out by Fundación Valenciaport within the framework of the European YEPMED project and in which 81 companies linked to the port logistics cluster participated.
This is a course with a trainer of trainers approach, so that the teachers of the I.E.S. interact with the teachers of Fundación Valenciaport. The aim is to share, learn and hold very dynamic sessions where there are no questions to be asked or information to be checked about the physical flow of goods and the documentary flow that accompanies the import and export processes of goods from the moment they leave a warehouse until they reach the end customer. The teachers will learn about the port of Valencia as an instrument at the service of international trade and the main keys to its innovative management and leadership.
The classes will be given by professionals from the port logistics sector who will contribute both their business vision and their experience to the programme.
