Opentop will showcase the evolution of the startups in its Acceleration Programme during Demo Day

  • This great event will be held on Thursday 28th September in the emblematic Veles e Vents building.
  • Canonical Green, Sensing Tools, DMS Logistics and Gandolapp will present the solutions developed for logistic-port challenges
  • Boluda Corporación Marítima, Autoridad Portuaria de València, and COSCO as advisor, have supported and worked with the startups throughout the 6 months of the programme.

On Thursday 28th September Opentop, Valenciaport’s innovation hub, will present to the industry the solutions developed by the four startups accelerated in its 1st Acceleration Programme: Canonical Green, Sensing Tools, DMS Logistics and Gandolapp.

The event will take place in the Veles e Vents space within the Port of Valencia and will bring together all professionals from the port logistics sector interested in the digital development of the multiple challenges facing the industry.

Opentop, an initiative of the Fundación Valenciaport and its strategic partner, Telefónica Open Future, is committed to open innovation with start-ups and entrepreneurs at this meeting of talent in the port logistics sector.

On the day, after a welcome by Antonio Torregrosa, Director General of the Fundación Valenciaport, each of the four startups will present the work developed during the 6 months of the programme. In addition, Andrés Saborido, Global Managing Director of Wayra, Telefónica’s innovation hub, will give a presentation to highlight the importance of open innovation that links the entrepreneurial and industrial ecosystems.

Challenges faced by startups

Canonical Green will present its solution to the challenge presented by Boluda Corporación Marítima, whose objective was to reduce the carbon footprint of its operations while minimising investment risk. Its solution involves optimisation based on artificial intelligence for cleaner, safer and more efficient maritime transport.

Sensing Tools, a Spin Off of the Universitat Politècnica de València, will explain its proposal for the challenge of the Port Authority of Valencia, which aimed to predict daily port traffic based on the application of digital technologies, integrating data from multiple heterogeneous sources. For this challenge, the selected startup proposed a solution that integrates physical sensors, citizen opinion and digital twins to generate a complete vision of any environment with predictive capacity.

DMS Logistics, has faced one of the challenges proposed by Opentop, where it was looking for a solution to predict the time that each container will remain in the port. In this case, the selected startup has developed an artificial intelligence platform to decongest and decarbonise container terminals.

For its part, Gandolapp will present its solution for another of Opentop’s challenges, where the aim was to automatically plan the activities of the parties involved in maritime-terrestrial intermodality. In this case, the startup has developed a virtual voice companion for carriers that improves the in-cabin experience, digitalises operations and optimises communications.
